Baby Boy

Hi Bloggers, I hope you have enjoyed the Summer and the Bank Holiday weekend we have just had. I was away visiting family so all though I spent the weekend crafting with my granddaughters it wasn't card making so I didn't have anything to post until today. This card was made with a combination of spellbinders dies, Pink Petticoat papers and Distress inks by Tim Holtz and Alcohol inks by Spectrum Noir Sorry about the colours of the pictures but it was dark and affected the outcome of the pictures. Next week we are off to Cardiganshire for a week so Were hoping to get some inspiration for more cards whilst we are away. Hope you all have a good week

Waterfall Card

Hi my Friends, Just a quick post today as we are going for a walk along the coastal path and meeting friends for lunch so this is a waterfall card I made a little while ago. It was my first attempt at this style of card and has an oriental theme. I like the action of pulling the little tab at the bottom and seeing how the layers open up to reveal the undersides of the layers. I will certainly try this again. I hope you like it. Regards Wendy

A little bit of Honey

Morning Everyone, I noticed that we have had an increase in bumble bees and butterflies this summer and a friend of ours, who keeps Honey bees, has got 4 colonies that all seem to be doing well this year and as I wanted to make a "Thank You" card to send him, I thought this he would like one of these. This is one of my favourite stamps sets by "Chocolate Baroque and I began the card by stamping the honeycomb stamp onto plain white paper using Tim Holts Distress ink called ""Old Paper" to form the background. Once this was dry, I then stamped some flowers and or the beehive on top to complete the scene and then blended the edges of the paper. Over this I added an "Ornate Window" which was cut and embossed using the spellbinders die and this was placed over the background to show the design through the window. To complement this scene I added a flourish of leaves to two of the card and I'd coloured them with Tim Holtz distress ink to match the colour of the card stock. In this case it was aptly called Wild Honey" The sentiment stamp was applied to white paper and a selection of Spellbinders dies were used to cut out the labels which I then shaded along the edges with the same colour ink I'd used on the cards. I have yet to add the sentiments to the card but I generally Used Microsoft word and I alter the fonts depending on the type of card I've made.
God bless

Wedding card 2

Hi Friends I hope you are all enjoying the summer holidays. Todays card is another wedding card and I'm beginning to think I've got wedding fever. Again I'm keeping it simple as sometimes I think less is more and I also wanted to use up some of my left over card and topper stock. This card is made using pearl card stock for the base card and I then adhered a smaller piece of Damask printed paper taken from Kanban Love and Marriage paper pad to use as a background. To this I adhered two small fancy trims which I cut using Spellbinders D-Lites "Flourish trim". They were slightly longer than I wanted, so I cut the ends off each of them with scissors to make them the same size as my topper and it doesn't detract from the flourish in any way. That's the lovely thing about spellbinders die cuts, you can adapt them for your design of card and they still look good. I then placed a wedding topper taken from Kanban "Love and Happiness 901525, paper craft range from my stash and placed it on the card with adhesive pads to give dimension to the card. A small double bow was applied with silicone gel and the card was completed with a lovely wedding sentiment taken from the web and printed using Microsoft word. The corners were punched with a Friskars " Lace" hole punch.

Hope you like it

Wedding Card

Hi Everyone, this wedding card was made from pearl card stock to which I applied a  piece of damask paper taken from Kanban "Love and Marriage" paper stock which I cut smaller than the face of the card. To this I applied a topper taken from my stash of Kanban " Happy ever after 901529" toppers which blended with the damask paper. I wanted to keep the card very simple so I only added three pearls to the top of the left hand side of the card and finished it with a wedding verse from the internet which I printed out using Microsoft Word. I edged the corners of the inset using a Friskars "Lace" punch.

Let me know what you think

In Memory Of Joy

Morning Friends. I made this card to send to a family in memory of a lovely lady who I nursed for many years. She was a lovely person and will be missed by all her family, friends and others she came in contact with. Thinking of you JOY and all your family. God Bless..

Engagement card 3

Hi again, this card is another engagement card using the same pearl card stock and I used a border with swirls on it from my Kanban  stash and place it along the centre  of the card. To this I added a heart that I'd cut out using a Spellbinders D-Light "Vines of Passion " die and slightly to one side I place another Heart and sentiment from my pre cut Kanban "Engagement Blessings" topper stash. I finished the card with an insert using Microsoft word and I edged the corners using a Friskars "Lace" punch. Hope you like it.

Engagement card 2

Hi All, this is another Engagement card made with pearl card stock and Kanban "Engagement Blessings" toppers from my stash. The sentiment was backed with a Spellbinder "Ornamental Tag no 3 " and the same insert was used as my previous card using Microsoft Word.

Engagement Card

Afternoon Friends, well I managed to fit a crafting day in today and decided as we have some weddings forthcoming I would practice making a few wedding cards. This one was made really easily using some lovely pearl card stock, just right for a celebration card as it has a soft sheen  surface on one side. I wanted a simple, clean looking card so just adhered two die cut "heart felt creation ornate window" shapes by Spellbinders, to the card, overlapping them slightly. On top of this I used a pre cut heart topper from my card stash, by Kanban , from their "Engagement Blessings  901524" range and is very pretty close up. I then made a double bow to complement the colour of the card and secured it to the card with a silicone gel glue. Inside the card I placed an engagement  sentiment obtained from a web site that allows you to use from their site and printed it using Microsoft Word.
Thanks for looking.

Regards Wendy

I'm back...

Morning my crafting friends, I hope you are having a productive day. I owe a big appology for not posting anything on my blog for quite a while but lots has happened here and I have been away and have not been crafting. My mother had a stroke so we visited for a while but I am glad to say that God answered our prayers and she has made a remarcable recovery.
From my mam's in North Wales, went to visit our daughter who lives in the Midlands and had the wonderful pleasure of accompanying her when she visited the hospital to have a scan and saw  our future grandchild in utero. We will not have to wait too long now to know if it's a baby boy or girl as it is due towards the end of  September..... it's so exciting.
We then had the joy of looking after our grandsons for an action packed long weekend building lego, playing in the park, BBQ-ing  and had great fun at an adventure park where they climbed up high poles, swooped down death slides and amazed me how brave they were... Well done boys.!!
Once we arrived home we had a visitor, our daughters boyfriend called to see us and asked  if he could Marry our daughter... what fantastic news. So that's two wedding's we have to look forward to and two cakes to make, as our son gets married this November as well.
We then had a fun filled family day out rowing down the river Wye in Monmouth in a canoe and if we weren't soaking wet from falling in, having water fights and splashing one another we were drowned at the end of the day by torrential rain. It was a great day out and I'd highly recommend it.
A friend of ours asked if we wanted to go sailing for a week and as the weather was so great we couldn't refuse so after settling aboard we set off on his Rival 38ft Yacht called "Henry Morgan". We left Cardiff bay through the lock gates at 8 am, being waved off by our daughter and 4 year old granddaughter who had come to watch us as we headed across the Bristol channel to our first port of call, "Watchett" which is a small harbour on the English mainland. We stayed here a night and then headed further down the coast to "Porlock" a lovely quaint place where we moored for two nights in their tiny harbour before sailing to our final port of call, Ifracombe. The weather was perfect and we couldn't have asked for a better week.
Well as you can see we've had an action packed few weeks but now we're home were trying to catch up as we have been decorating, getting carpets laid, gardening and generally getting the house ready to go on the market as we're house hunting as well. Phew retirement is hard work.. ;-)
Anyway I'll post a few pictures of our trip. Hope you like them

Regards Wendy
