Silver wedding

Evening friends hope you've all had a good Friday, its been busy here so it's just a quick post this evening. This card is made for my brother who's 25th wedding anniversary is coming up in March and was made with my lovely new die from Sue Wilson's new  "Striplet" collection. I used this die to cut out the mirror card to make a backing layer and the striplet for the topper. I then stamped and embossed a piece of card and mat and layered them all together. I cut out the lovely leaves using Sue's lovely Finishing Touches " Faux Quilled leaves" Collection and adhered them with a sliver bow and small tag which I'd stamped " 25 years " onto. The main sentiment was stamped and cut out using Spellbinders D-Lites Petite Label one and shaded around the edge whist still in the die to complement the silver colour of the card. ....

Morning crafters well its a gorgeous day here in Cadiff and staying on a nautical theme I made this card using the same papers and toppers as my previous card so as I am busy making my daughters wedding invites I wont go into all the details as time is of the essence but the paper range was from Pink Petticoat as were the sentiments. Right Im off to sail away into the blue yonder of my craft room... Have a great day ...

Take Time

Morning Crafting friends, I made this yesterday evening as I was inspired to enter it into the new sketch on Mojo Mondays Challenge blog so I hope you like it. It was made from downloading papers, sentiments and digi stamps from the "Beach Cottage" Range by Pink Petticoatand and I assembled the card following the design on the Mojo blog. The flags were made by using a Sissix Banner & Tags set of dies and the centre topper was cut using a Spellbinders Shapeability die from the "Floral Doily Motifs set and I shaded areas with Spectrum Noir pens. Happy crafting..

Monochrome Monday

Morning Crafters, well black and white is the order of todays card which I made by using stamps from the Hunkydory Clearly Stamps “Flutterbye Sorbet“ stamp set. I first cut a piece of white paper to fit the front of the card then stamped the grasses design along the top and bottom edges of the paper. All four edges of the paper were then inked with black archival ink to give more definition to the layers and then adhered to the front of the main card. Two toppers were cut out using two Spellbinders “Timeless Rectangles” dies and then mat and layered to the card, I then stamped three butterflies also taken from the stamp set with the black ink onto card stock and three stamped with black embossing powder onto parchment paper and cut them all out and adhered the parchment layers to the card layers and fixed them to the card using 3d foam squares. The sentiment was stamped onto Centura Pearl card stock and cut and scored to form a banner and adhered to the front.
Have a great day

Embossed watercolour 2

Hi Guys, this is the second watercolour card made from the other half of the watercolour paper so great value as you get two for the price of one and as I used three different coloured inks you get a different shade across the paper so is ideal for producing a series of cards...

Embossed Watercolour Card 1

Evening again everyone, well its almost Monday and I wanted to add another card to my blog before I went to bed and as I felt like doing some water colouring I thought I would combine both so made a card using a watercolour technique. I began by applying some brown corrugated card stock to my base card and then the main design was made by taking the Creative Expressions Tulip Stencil and using a Versamark pen, traced the design onto watercolour paper. Once all the tulips had been traced onto the card I sprinkled over the design with white pearlised embossing powder and after removing the excess powder, heating them with a heat gun. Once dry I spread three different colours of Tim Holtz Distress ink over the card and spritzed it generously all over with water and left it to dry. This allows the inks to merge into one another  and once dry leaves the watermarks behind. The card was then trimmed and mounted onto white card stock and adhered to the rest of the card. The sentiment was added after stamping it onto card and cutting it out with a Spellbinders Nestability “Labels 29” Die. I hope you like the simplicity of the design..

Just for you

Evening everyone, I hope you have had a lovely a weekend and enjoyed yourselves as much as we have. We have just returned from spending the weekend my son and is family who live in Derby and it was great to spend some time with them and our granddaughters who are growing up so fast.  Today's card was made from stamping small flowers onto white paper, cutting them out with fine scissors and shading the edges of each petal with matching ink. The vase was printed onto back card with versa mark then white embossing powder applied over the area and then heated with a heat gun. It was then cut out and adhered to a topper I'd cut out using a Spellbinder Ornate Loops die. The flowers were then decoupaged onto each other giving each flower two or three layers to add dimension to the card. They were then adhered to the topper. The banner was made by stamping a sentiment onto a strip of card and cutting a "V" shape into each edge.

Have a good evening....

Over the Garden Fence

Morning Everyone, With a grand-daughters birthday coming up I wanted to create a card with lots of pastel colours and as I had some of this blue spotted paper in my stash decided to use it as a background. The garden fence was made using a Sissix Thankful Background & Borders embossing folder set and then cutting it out carefully with a craft knife . Once completed, I adhered it to the card and then made a variety of paper flowers some of which I cut freehand and others using a spellbinders flower die. Once the flowers were cut out I coloured them using pastel inks and then used a ball embossing tool to shape the petals for more dimension. I then layered them and fluffed the petals then added a pearl at the centre of each flower. The pastel banners strips along the top edge of the card were cut out and overlapped then adhered to the card. The butterflies were made using Spellbinders Shapeability "Whimsies"  collection die then shaded with pastel inks along their edges to match the colours used in the rest of the card. Small pearls were also added to these to complete the look and a sentiment topper added to finish the card...

Have a great day...

Easle card

Evening Everyone. Well we are mid week already and the weekend will soon be upon us and I'm looking forward to it immensely as we'll be off to Derby to see my son , his wife and our two granddaughters whom we've not seen since the New year when they came to stay with us over the festive period. They are both budding crafters and their mum has a natural flair for design and did a florists course a few years ago, she also loves crafting with the girls. Tonight's card is an easel card and I made it using a paper, topper and embellishment range that I downloaded from the internet from Crafters Companion and was published in April 2013. I began by cutting out a rectangle of the damask paper and adhered it to the right side of the card. Then using the spotted patterned paper, I cut out a floral shaped topper using a Spellbinder Shapeabilities "Moroccan Accents" die and adhered the main sentiment to it as it fitted perfectly. I then cut out and shaped the roses, leaves using a ball embossing tool to give them dimension. I shaded the edges of the petals and leaves with matching coloured ink and once dry I  assembled them onto the card. Once happy with the arrangement I adhered them into place then added some leafy tendrils.

Have a lovely Evening....

Vintage Love

Morning all, what a frustrating morning I've had as I've been trying to find out why I've begun to have some odd messages left on my blog that I cant remove and in my quest to sort it out found out I am not alone and many other crafters are experiencing the same thing. So if anyone has any good information on how to remove them please let me know as it's very frustrating. So todays card is just a quickie as I wasted half the day trying to sort the problem out to no avail...Grrr!! I began making this card by using a backing paper called "French Script" that I printed from Pink Petticoat range and onto this matt and layered a cream piece of card stock which I had embossed using "Tied Together" embossing folder by Couture Creations. Then I took the h "Heart" edge die from the Sissix Thinlits Hearts and flowers Edges range and used it to cut out a strip of parchment paper. I put this to one side then used the die as a stencil and shaded a row of hearts onto some cream card stock with a Tim Holtz distress ink and also shaded along one edge  of the card. I then adhered the parchment paper onto the top layer of card allowing the  hearts to marry up and show through the parchments cut out areas. I completed the card with "love" sentiment that I'd stamped with the same shade of ink onto a piece of card stock and cut it out to use as a topper. Hope you like it.

Blessings

Friends are like Sunflowers

Evening Friends, well I'm sorry to say the sunshine didn't last long and it rained again today and thoughts of the sunshine that family are having whilst on holiday in Spain made me think of big sunflowers, so I got out my stamps and set to and made this card. I started by making a backing paper and did this by tearing strips of masking tape and sticking them onto a piece of paper as you do when doing "faux leather" look paper. However I wanted a more "scrunched effect" so I wrinkled and creased the tape before sticking it down to the backing paper. Once the whole A4 sheet was covered I inked the surface using Tim Holtz distress inks "Crushed Olive " and  "Old Mahogany" and then applied clear embossing powder over the surface and heated it with my heat gun. Once dry I trimmed the edges and cut it in half then adhered one piece onto black card stock. I then cut, embossed and shaded a topper using a Spellbinder labels 18 die. The set of "Sunflower" stamps I used to make the flowers are by Sheena Douglass and are in her Paint Fusion range, they are a generous sized stamp as you can see in the picture. I stamped three of each of the flowers and leaves and coloured each one using Spectrum Noir  pens and then cut each one out. I left the bottom layer of the flower complete then removed some of the petals from the middle and top layer and then curled the edges of the petals to make them look more life like.. I adhered the three layers of the flowers and leaves together using sticky 3d foam  and secured  them to the card with silicone gel. I completed the card with a sunflower quote on the inner fly leaf. Hope you like the card...

Happy Crafting ...

Filigree Bow

Good evening Friends. I hope you have shared in some sunshine today as we were fortunate to have had a lovely day here in Cardiff. We met  some friends who we haven't seen for a while and caught up with what's been happening with them which was great as it always makes you feel good when you share it with friends. It was my birthday this week and I've been thoroughly spoilt  by my family and todays card was made using one of the new dies that I received  designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions and this die is called "Lattice Heart" from the Striplet Collection and is comprised of two dies.  I used both dies together to cut out the first layer in white card, then cut out the second pink layer of card using just the outer die. This gives you the lattice effect top layer and solid pink piece for the underneath layer and the beauty of this is  so you get a neat finish when you adhere them together. I then matt and layered the finished striplet to a topper cut using a Spellbinders  "Detailed Scallop" die. The lovely little bow is also from a new selection designed by Sue Wilson and is a set of 6 dies called "Finishing Touches, Filigree 3D Bow" I topped the bow with a pearl and edged it with pink ink to match the loops on the topper and sentiment. I think you will agree that the dies are beautiful and will complement any other make of dies you have too.

Take care all...

Blowing in the wind

Afternoon my crafting friends, well finally the sun has come out for a while which is a blessing from all the wind and rain we have over the past couple of weeks. Many areas of the country are struggling with the after effects of flooding and storm damage but thankfully it's not been so bad here in Cardiff and I hope you all have been safe too. Todays card was made from stamping a dandelion design onto parchment paper from the "British Wild flowers" collection by Creative Expressions designed by Sam Pool. Having stamped the design onto the parchment paper using Versamark ink I embossed it with clear embossing powder. Once dry I stamped close to the first stamp going over the design slightly and then used a tinted embossing powder to give a deeper colour. Once dry I cut around the design with my spellbinders "Detailed Scallops" die and layered it onto a shaded orange card stock from my stash and then layered this onto some white card stock that I had cut out with a larger sized die from the same set and adhered them all onto my card. I then cut out the seeds that come with the stamp set and adhered them all to my card with silicone gel so they stood out a little from the main card.  I completed the card with an orange satin bow and added a topper made from the same Spellbinder die set. Hope you like the effect.

Have a great day!!
